First Time at Comic Con!
Well, okay, not first time as a participant, but it’ll be my first time vending at Ottawa Comic Con, so it’s still exciting!
Let’s rewind for a sec: Last May, I participated in a wonderful event in Stittsville, and made loads of new friends and connected with some I hadn’t seen in years!
It was lovely.
Among the people I met was Joseph Carbonetto from Intenseffex. They have a large booth (a corner!) at Comic Con, and like to invite local authors with SFFH titles to share the space. So, I’ll be near their booth (I’m told by some dark drapes), which are booths 211-213 and 311 (for those of you with a map)! I’ll have books, and cute bookmarks that Kerri and I made!
Plus, Stephanie Anne, a talented and super fun sci-fi and horror author (don’t let the fun detract you - she’ll tear your heart out and laugh (in her writings only (I think))), will have a table near me. Come check out her books, too! You won’t be disappointed!
Plus PLUS! My dear friend Karen, who is one of the most impressive graphic designers I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, made me a logo. A logo! So I used it to design a banner (she has three kids, it’s summer, I was trying to be useful), and then sent her way to just “tweak it” (she said, foolishly). Anyway, two hours later she sent me a whole new banner and it’s gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the printed version, and I’ll have it behind my booth, so people can actually find me in the large crowds! Woo!
Hope to see you there on September 6-8! Come pick up books, bookmarks, and share some laughs!
